Here are video clips that show school board members Nicole Cole, Dawn Shelley, and Lorita Daniels speaking at the Board of Supervisors meeting on February 8, 2022. They spoke in the last 15 minutes of the Board of Supervisors meeting.
Shelley, Cole, and Daniels were active participants as they addressed public transactions pertaining to school system funding. They had similar talking points which implies coordination. Three members of a public body addressing public business is by definition a “meeting”. It’s a meeting within the board of supervisors meeting as we explained in our earlier article.
This situation is very different than the Fredericksburg city council case in 2004. The council members attended but did not participate or speak in a public meeting.
