The next hearing for Spotsylvania County Schools bus aide Miguel Velasquez Velasco, charged with 15 counts of child XXX abuse, is July 3, 2025. Another hearing will occur on September 19, 2025. It looks like we are finally getting a jury trial. There are 15 charges filed in Spotsylvania County Circuit Court. This is in the screenshot below.

We hope that Commonwealth Attorney Ryan Mehaffey pushes for the harshest sentence possible if he is found guilty. It would be a mockery of the justice system if he gets a light sentence like 6 months’ probation. We hope Mehaffey can push for a harsh sentence this time unlike the slap on the wrist sentence that occurred in the Candyce Carter case.

This incident happened under the watch of Spotsylvania County Schools Superintendent Clint Mitchell and HR Director Amy Williams. The incompetence of Clint “DEI” Mitchell and Williams is there for all to see. They continue to hire staff with questionable backgrounds that cause school safety issues that have been all over the news.
