Here are three video clips of Spotsylvania County Schools Superintendent Clint “DEI” Mitchell arguing against drug testing at the March 2026 school board meeting. Mitchell makes a series of weak arguments against testing by avoiding the bigger issue of student safety. He is more concerned about losing potential teachers.

It is common in many industries for employees to go through random drug testing. If testing scares a teacher from working in the school division, why is that a problem? If a teacher has a problem with substance abuse, wouldn’t the school administration want to get ahead of that to prevent student safety issues? Mitchell cites two incidents occurring where staff failed a test. If one incident occurs, is that not one incident too many?

We at the Spotsy Wire think that either Clint “DEI” Mitchell has a PhD in stupidity or enjoys using substances and wants to avoid being tested. That is our opinion on Dr Mitchell.
