Kellogg’s Kassie

Former interim Spotsylvania County School Board member Kassie Palmer attacked Kirk Twigg and Lisa Phelps on her Parents Advocating Facebook page over their concerns on inappropriate books in the school division. Kassie displays an elitist attitude in a lot of her posts including this one.

Kassie’s argument is rooted in a logical fallacy called “appeal to authority”. The credentials of an individual, such as holding a Masters Degree or PHD, does not make that individual free from criticism or the ultimate authority on everything. Either the argument hold on its own based on logic and reason or it does not. There is a difference between book knowledge and common sense. In the words of Ben Shapiro- “I dont need a 7 year degree in sociology to know bullshit when I see it” (just substitute sociology with any credential)

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics website in 2020, 57 million people hold an associates degree or attended some college and 62 million just have a high school diploma. 31 million hold an advanced degree like a Masters or PHD. Are these 119 million people (associates and high school graduates) not qualified to call out inappropriate books when they see it ? Are these 119 million people (associates and high school graduates) not qualified to call out inappropriate books when they see it ? Are we all supposed be ruled by the elites like Kassie ?? Here is the BLS Link with these stats: https://www.bls.gov/cps/cpsaat07.htm

Kassie’s elitist attitude is on full display. We sometimes reference her as Kellogg’s Kassie because of her association with John Palmer, the man arrested and served jail time for wire fraud – https://www.fbi.gov/contact-us/field-offices/richmond/news/press-releases/former-kellogg-salesman-sentenced-on-wire-fraud-charge
