The next school board meeting is on Monday November 8th. We are looking forward to the always entertaining public comment section. There are two action items on the agenda that caught our attention.

First, the school board will vote on the proposed legislative position statements for the Virginia School Board Association Delegate Assembly. Its a 9 page document on BoardDocs. Position 6 talks about setting up a committee to explore schools offering health care services. Position 9 proposes amending state law to allow adding a sales tax specific to school construction.

Second, school administration is asking the school board to reduce the 180 school day calendar to 178 school days by closing schools on November 22 and November 23.
