Daniels Equity Push

At the September school board meeting, Lorita Daniels stated in no uncertain terms that she supports equity. Equity is not equality of opportunity. Equity is equality of outcome. Equity promotes mediocrity and is a disincentive for high student achievement. Lorita Daniels believes in these California values.

  • Equity is the lie that giving a student a 50 instead of a zero for a missed assignment somehow makes the student better.
  • Equity is the lie that we must remove more advanced level classes because minority students are underrepresented in those classes.
  • Equity is the lie that says when a student of minority background gets low grades because they do not study or pay attention in class, it’s not their fault.

We have seen these California values spread across the country. Lying Lorita Daniels, Crackpot Carol Medawar, Nasty Nicole, and the rest of the Wokeys want to push this ideology onto children. Here are some recent articles on equity.

Radical Lorita Daniels

Spotsylvania County School Board member Lorita Daniels constantly promotes equity at school board meetings. Apparently, Daniels believes in this equity garbage so much that she had to create a nonprofit organization to promote this wild ideology. This ideology is dangerous for students.

Equity is the lie that if we simply redistribute financial resources, justice will be done. Equity, which is different from equality, is the idea that no matter what bad decisions you make, any statistical disparity in test scores must be the result of discrimination so the system must be restructured. (this comes partially from a quote from the Ben Shapiro podcast on 6/27/2023)

Equity is dangerous in education. It provides an excuse for student underachievement because of the “system” instead of the student’s own individual choices. If a student does not spend much time on their homework, forgets to study, or does not listen in class, then it must be the “system”. Apparently, equity is ingrained in everything Daniels believes. That is the wrong message to send to students.

Equity Cesspool

Daniels mentioned equity again during the 10/10 school board meeting. She does not get it. Equity is equality of outcome. The only way to achieve equality of outcome (equity) is thru racism. Defeating equity is the single most important civil rights issue of the 21st century. Everyone will be better off if the focus was on equality of opportunity instead of this equity cesspool.

The Dangerous Concept of Equity in Spotsy Schools

Spotsylvania County Public Schools’ strategic plan lists one its core values as equity.  Equity is the act of distributing resources based on specific needs for the purpose of achieving a greater fairness of outcome because everyone starts from a different place.   This sounds nice on the surface. When you dig deeper, equity is a nefarious concept because it focuses on equality of outcomes instead of equality of opportunity.

Proponents of equity look at outcomes of different groups.  If there is a disparity between outcomes of different groups, proponents of equity see a problem with the “system”.   Proponents of equity discount the impact of individual decision making.  This is the main problem with equity.  Individuals are lumped into groups.  Groups are typically defined in terms of race.

There is nothing more racist than grouping people together, associating a statistical disparity collectively, and avoiding the merit of the individual. Equity is a very dangerous concept because it removes personal responsibility from individual decision making and blames the “system” for why one can not succeed.  When it applies to education, this is the wrong message to send to kids.

No one benefits with an equality of outcome situation because everyone ends up the same. Should everyone go to the same family doctor because they want the same outcome?   Do people go to specialist doctors because they want the same outcome as a family doctor ?  Obviously, the answer is no. Specialists are purposely “different” and know more about a particular organ than a family doctor.   In a life-or-death situation, we want the best doctors and not an average doctor that is the same as other average doctors.

Equity is reliant upon the government to determine arbitrarily which group is more worthy than other groups in determining “needs”. The government determines where tax dollars go. If one “group” falls behind, equity proponents require more tax dollars go towards the one group so that everyone ends up the same. Its an endless cycle that does not address the core issue. The core issue is the decision making at the individual level which ultimately determines success.

CRT & Equity Article Relevant to Spotsy Schools

There is a Fairfax Times article covering how critical race theory and equity is ingrained in school systems across Virginia. Equity is one of the tools used to implement CRT. In Spotsylvania County schools, we see it thru professional training, policy structure, etc. The school board established an equity committee back on the July 2021 school board meeting. The left block on the school board led by Daniels pushed to establish the equity committee.
